Artist's Comments

Unlike the lights in this church, that which they illuminate will never be extinguished.

Interior of St. Margaret's Catholic Church; I wanted to get a good picture of it before we move over to the new building, which is almost done being built. I'm excited for the new church, but at the same time I'm a bit sad to be leaving this one. Sentimentality at work, I suppose.

Thankyoumuch. It's unfortunate that the pillars covered up the statues of Mary and Joseph... but all the other possible shots were too close or too far away.

Oh, it is hard to get everything you want in a picture sometimes. At least it is for me. Of course, I became interested in photography 6 months ago. I am very much an amateur, learning as much as I can to improve my developing skills. I have found a lot of people on here very helpful. If you can ever offer me any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated!

By the way, did everyone get settled into the new church? I meant to ask that in my comment and forgot. I hope it is as gorgeous as the one in the photo, and that you feel at home there. I do not live in the same town as the Our Lady of Consolation. It is a shrine in Carey, Ohio, and is very well known to a lot of Catholics. So far it is the only church I have felt completely at home in. It may be, though, that OLC is the one I attended growing up as it was only 20 minutes from where we lived. My mom grew up in that town and was practically raised in that church!

Sorry to bore you, I hope you don't mind my rambling. It happens sometimes!

I don't know how many suggestions I could offer, but I'll give you a tip or two when I have them. It would be awesome if you'd return the favor; I also welcome suggestions.

And as far as the church goes, most everyone has gotten settled in, except for maybe some of the really really old people who weren't very happy with the situation. The building is a little bit on the modern side... which was a little disappointing for me; I'm kind of a traditionalist, and have a fondness for the old forms of architecture. But it wasn't overblown, and despite the modern edge, it is actually quite beautiful. I've grown fond of it.

BTW, I don't mind rambling. I'm also guilty of it :P

I am glad to have found another rambler! I am sorry it took me so long to reply. I went out of town yesterday and popped on for a short while, but not long enough to do anything constructive!

I am glad you all got settled in. I am sure the church is lovely. I know what you mean about the architecture, though. I feel the same way. Maybe that is part of the reason I continue to feel at home at OLC.

I will return the favor and offer suggestions if I have any. It is nice to find people on here willing to both lend a helping hand and who aren't offended if you offer any suggestions. Although, I am so new to photography, I don't know how many I will have! I will try if you need me to, though!

Thanks again!
